My house looks like a hurricane went through. And in away it did. Summer was wrapped into about one week.
I canned by myself for the first time. I am terrified that i did it wrong. I still have to make some pickles, apple sauce and apple jelly. I wish terribly that i had a pressure cooker.
Is it chicken pox season yet? I need to find someone to infect my children.

If your children get it I'm coming up to have mine infected too!!
No problem Steph! As soon as i see it, i will let you know!
Never canned. Don't want to learn...then I would feel pressure and obligation to do it: I have given away paper bags full of tomatoes!! Someone should have told us 17 plants = mucho mucho tomat-o-s.
Oh Erika! I cant believe you gave away tomatoes!!! Almost none of mine deveoloped! If you want to get rid of more i will gladly take them!!!
Oh, if only I had room to grow 17 tomato plants!
Jordin, I keep wondering what on earth I have done to mislead you into thinking I could possibly deal with my 50 pounds of apples in one session! So far I did one small batch of apple sauce yesterday after we talked on the phone and then four pies today. There hardly seems to be a dent in the apples. I foresee days and days of turning the crank on my little apple peeler/corer/slicer. But the results will be worth it! Next time I'm hoping for a big 2 or 3 person marathon apple day again!
Oh Rachel! I hope that this is the only season i have to can anything without you! I miss the large canning sessions too.
